will it not be good to pick your own iPhone ringtones, instead of allowing to Apple choose them for you? What if you like to designate an unique ring tone for each of your friends, and you have more than twenty-five friends? How do you get new iPhone ring tones onto your iPhone?

Wouldn’t it be cool to choose your own Apple iPhone ringtones instead of having Apple choose them for you? And wouldn’t it be even cooler if you could assign individual ringtones for each of your friends? So, how do you go about getting these new iPhone ring tones onto your iPhone?

If you have a song library on your computer then you can create customized iPhone ringtones for your iPhone. All that you need to use is your computer and iTunes – no hacking software involved. It’s a little bit complicated but if you take it step-by-step you’ll end up with your own choice of ringtones.

Here’s how:

Step 1. Open iTunes.

Step 2. Right click on any song you want to utilise to create your new iPhone ring tone. Select GET INFO.

Step 3. Go to your OPTIONS tab, and in the menu check the START TIME and STOP TIME checkboxes. Put in a thirty second or less segment of the song into these times. Click OK.

Step 4. Right click on your song section. Select CONVERT SELECTION TO AAC.

Step 5. When it has finished converting your song section, go to your iTunes music folder. Browse to your song segment and drag it to your desktop.

Step 6. Now you need to delete your clipped song segment from your iTunes music folder.

Step 7. Back at your desktop, right click on your song, and click GET INFO.

Step 8. Change the extension at the end of the file name to .M4r.

Step 9. Double click the file. This’ll include it in your ringtones section of your iTunes library.

Step 10. Synchronize your iPhone with iTunes.

You now have a new customized iPhone ringtone on your iPhone.

If that’s too tedious to do for each ringtone, there is an easier way. You can also purchase iPhone ringtones – already formatted for your iPhone – at www.theiphonedvd.com.

6 Tips To Maintain Your iPhone & Keep Scratches Off Its Back

by Oliver Evans

Your iPhone is an investment you can maintain the life of by following these 6 simple tips!

1. Always keep your iPhone away from things that could scratch it. Do not place your phone in the same pouch or pocket that you keep keys, spare change, or other abrasive objects.

2. Get a cover. There are a plethora of cases available to protect your iPhone. Some of them include flip cases, slip pouches, gel skins, rigid covers, weather resistant cases, and leather covers. Whatever your preference in a case, there’s a make for you, and it can keep your iPhone looking new.

3. Get screen protectors to protect against dirt and smudging. These bits of film stick to your screen, normally by static, without blurring your view. You use your iPhone screen right through the screen protector, just like normal except for the added protection.

4. Another option for protecting your iPhone from dirt and scratches is an Air Jacket kit. The air jacket is a fine layer of protection only one millimeter thick. It’s nearly invisible, however it still protects your phone. The air jacket will not protect a dropped phone, but it will keep away the dirt, smudges, and scratches which ruin your iPhone’s finish. The kit comes with the air jacket, a fine crystal film, and an anti-glare film for the LCD.

5. There are also best practices you can do to maintain your iPhone’s battery and extend its battery life. The primary thing you can do is always keep your iPhone away from heat. Do not leave it in a hot car, or anyplace else in the sun. Heat is the worst thing for your iPhone’s battery, and would destroy it faster than just about anything else. Also, you may go through 1 charge cycle per month to keep the battery best maintained. To do this, charge it up to 100 percent and then let the charge drain totally down to 0 percent. Lock your cellphone when you are not using it, and keep power-draining activities, such as gaming, to a reasonable level. Remembering these tips will help keep your battery functioning at an optimal level.

6. Periodically clean you iPhone. To clean it, first turn off your iPhone for safety, then use the cleaning cloth that came with it. If that is not available, you could use any soft, lint-free cloth. Get it somewhat damp, but not wet, and rub iPhone softly. Do not use cleaning solvents, alcohol, household cleaners, window cleaners or abrasives while maintaining your iPhone! Be certain you do not get any moisture in any of the openings.

A clean, well maintained iPhone will look better with perform with more efficiency. Remember these tips to get the best performance from your iPhone.

by Davion W

Having troubles with an unnamed caller? To trace a cell phone number, a reverse cell phone look up must be used. The websites that offer this kind of service are able to make this possible by paying for the database of phone numbers and the continuously updating it.To track down a client of Verizon, one will need to use a Verizon reverse cell phone lookup. Steps are enlisted to aid users in making this tracking down a possibility.

The cell phone number is needed to be able to make a Verizon reverse cell phone look up likely. If the cell phone number is unknown, setting a caller ID, or visiting Verizon to get information, may be options. Pressing *69 will also get your phone to directly call back the last incoming phone call (this will not only get you in contact with the caller, but it can get you the number you need).

The second step in the process is finding a reliable website that you can use to make a cell phone reverse lookup from Verizon. These sites can be found by searching the web. Of course, after searching the web, the process isn’t finished. Not all websites are reliable and not all of them are legal either.

Lots of research must be done to be able to find the best and most trustworthy sites to do a Verizon reverse lookup for cell phones. Databases must come from the cell phone companies themselves for these sites to be legal. These sites run their Verizon reverse look up for cell phone numbers through their database and reveal results to members after the fee is paid.

Information given includes name, address, birth facts and phone details. Further scoops may include criminal history, emails, relationship details like marriage, divorce files, legal records and other background checks. Personal details like these must not be misused in any way.

Sites that produce a Verizon reverse cell phone lookup must assure the safety of the members and Verizon’s clients as well. Websites that are most recommended are those that offer refunds for unsuccessful searches or require payment only if there is information to be revealed.

There are many people who are amazed by the newest techology sweeping the internet, reverse phone lookups. Actually, you have been able to do a reverse phone number lookup for quite some time. There are many phone books in cities that even have all the numbers in their database, listed in numerical order, so you can find the number and see who the number belongs to. The important change is that you can now even find a number that has been unlisted or is currently unlisted. You can also for the most part find cell phone numbers, and we all know how difficult that can be.

We are going to discuss how all this technology regarding reverse telephone number lookups later. But for now, just understand that this can be an invaluable tool for just about anyone to use. Are you a landlord who wants to check on a potential tenant, or perhaps a tenant that has not been paying rent and ran off? Are you wondering where your blind date really lives? It is easy to do a reverse number lookup on these people and find out the truth. There are a lot of people who are still amazed that this actually works, it is very easy, just logon to your favorite number search website, enter the details, then get your information. You can enter the number in a standard search engine, but you most likely will not find what you are looking for.

The telephone search directories get their information from databases that are not accessible by the search engines. Anytime someone buys a magazine subscription or puts their number anywhere in a database, it can be found in these databases. The system can determine whether it is a cell phone number by the digits that are contained in the number. Cell phones typically use a range of prefixes that identity them as cell phones. Once a match is made with a person’s name, the system can determine if it is a landline or cell phone.

The databases that contain the numbers are constantly changing and being updated. Now that you know that they work and understand what is going on, you may feel more comfortable in using one. If you get a lot of harassing calls, do not put up with it. Do your homework, there is power in knowledge, make sure you get yours.

If asked about Arthur C. Clarke chances are the average person would shoot you a blank stare. If you then played the opening bars of Strausss Thus Spoke Zarathustra and mentioned Stanley Kubrick, you may actually get a flicker of recognition. If you spoke the famous line, Open the pod bay doors, HAL! you could well get a smile and a Right ” yeah!

There is little celebration for a science fiction or fantasy writer. Many of the greats were little noticed in their lifetimes. Though this is certainly not the case with Clarke, Philip K. Dick, Robert Heinlein, or Isaac Asimov, there are a hundred writer for each of them that have never seen a Nebula Award or an Oscar. Literary or even cultural obscurity is one thing, but to fail to recognize a scientific breakthrough is shameful.

Though those in the know are aware Clarke was a great writer, they are usually not aware of the fact he pioneered the concept upon which modern global satellite communication is based. Having served in the Royal Air Force from 1941 through 1946 as a radar instructor and technician, Clarke first proposed the idea of a satellite-based communications system in 1945. He proposed geostationary satellites could be used as telecommunication relays in a paper entitled Extra-Terrestrial Relays, which was published in Wireless World in 1945.

It is hard to fathom the profound affect his simple idea has had on our daily lives, especially with regards to GPS tracking systems. It is easy to take the technology that makes cellphones and instant driving directions possible for granted. By triangulating a receiver on a phone or GPS device, satellites can pinpoint our location and lead us, as it were, to the Promised Land. A bit much to ask of a cellphone? Perhaps.

It is impressive that he envisioned the potential of the satellite well before the computer was little more than conjecture. He claimed the idea came from his experience with radar systems, wherein objects and their direction and trajectory can be accessed by the bounce effect of radar waves off metallic objects. GPS tracking systems and wireless telecommunications work on the same principle of deflected and directed waves, all triangulated by the sea of satellites orbiting the earth. A debt is owed to this bold visionary.
